What is Agricultural Science?

Agricultural Science is a hands-on program that supplements a regular academic curriculum. Students choose one agricultural field to specialize in for their four years. They learn through classroom and laboratory instruction while developing skills to apply this knowledge in real world settings.

Agriculture Science and Technology, formerly known as Vocational Agriculture or

Vo-Ag, is a program available to high school students interested in agriculture or agriculturally related fields. The following areas are offered at Lyman Hall:

  • Agricultural Mechanics/ Landscape Management
  • Aquaculture
  • Companion Animal
  • Food Science
  • Large Animal Technology
  • Plant Science
  • Veterinary Science
  • Wildlife Biology

Agricultural Education provides career readiness as well as prepares students for post secondary education. The three components to the Agricultural Education program include Instruction, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) and the National FFA Organization. These components work together to provide optimal opportunities for all students and develop a well-rounded individual.
